The Little League World Series has started in Williamsport, PA.  The West will be representated by East Lake – Chula Vista, a California team.  Gotta cheer for the home state! Next Door Solutions to Domestic Violence is always searching for new sources of funding. The women’s shelter takes used cell phones which can be converted to cash for their group. The cell phones are giving to an organization that recycles them. In exchange, the shelter earns $5 to $10 per phone. This month they got a huge donation: 140 cell phones. Security Guards at Westwood Village in Seattle deserve a round of applause for saving a small dog’s life. The dog named Zipper had been spotted in a car at 1 am in the morning. The guards called 911 and thank goodness they did. The dog had been locked inside the car for 6 days! He had been left in the care of the owner’s boyfriend who evidently was an imbecile.
